Hi ! I'm SPS, Your Salt Pepper Soul. I'm an architect who took a career break to learn culinary arts because if not now, then when. I'm crazy for two things: good food and great design.

Am I a chef or an Architect now? I'm simply a sucker for life.
Architecture opened me to life. It has shaped my thought process for 5 whole academic years and forever now. I was taught architecture with a syllabus, But If I have to Re-learn the whole degree from a different perspective through research and analysis, what does it mean for me now ?
The history of buildings can be boring, but what if they are subconsciously creating our design foundations?
Most times we walk past old structures without a second thought — a column here, a vaulted doorway there, a façade weathered by time. To most of us, they’re just vintage aesthetics. But architecture has a way of imprinting itself on us, whether we’re aware of it or not.
So this is my vantage point, This blog is my personal journey of reading , learning and assimilating the history that was left behind to be inspired.
Should we start from the big bang?
This is the exact moment the crazy idea began !!
On a lazy day, a sketch of the stone hedge popped in my feed, and I couldn't stop reminiscing about the sketch books we had to keep as part of our HOA classes in college. That got me to thinking about the huge 1832 pages hardbound book "Sir Banister Fletcher's A History of Architecture" that's been untouched since the day one of my college times (say 10 years now).
